Comments on Chapter 08

For this chapter needed to be balanced between sadness/melancholy and a touch of gritty darkness (without being too grim). Jesu's "Don't Dream It" (yes, it samples the Rocky Horror song) and "Medicine" both fall into this space. All three of the Tool tracks feel appropriate for the chapter's main theme.

Back to Palicosta, except this time we see a merging a characters, rather than just a focus on Flynn. As such, I begin to sneak in the likes of Thought Industry. Mastodon has always struck me as an adventurous kind of metal. Probably doesn't hurt that many of their early albums were strongly-themed.

Comments on Chapter 10

As with Chapter 04, tracks by Morphine are being used to frame the mood for Zane Grymore. Along with this is a number of jazz pieces by Torso and David Axelrod. Anyone familiar with the soundtrack for Grand Theft Auto 4 will recognize Axelrod's "Holy Thursday." Also, in the vein of videogame soundtracks, I'm actually surprised that this is the first time I dipped into Akira Yamaoka, who's worked on Silent Hill, Killer7 and Shadows of the Damned (to name a few).
