Author Joshua Banker announces the release of his latest speculative fiction work, The World’s Eye. Banker's latest entry in the Realm of Tah’afajien series blends elements of science-fiction, noir, and diesel-punk fantasy to tell the story of men who must make new futures and new homes in a world that changed while they were at war.

The war between Verenigen and Moa’rehnza is over. Former soldiers find themselves unable to settle back into their old lives, so they become bandits, law enforcement officers, bounty hunters. Three men from the 12th VRF, all blessed and cursed with unusual abilities, decide to make their way as muscle-for-hire mercenaries to fund their futures. Their jobs force each of them to realize who he really is.

While Flynn Earelle wants to transcend his violent nature through study and meditation, he ultimately joins his former squadmates in their venture. When the men are hired to steal a rare artifact known as the World’s Eye, they discover too late that another dangerous group also seeks the precious object.

Unlike Flynn, Kyote Kurttsen surrenders to his savage nature and relishes the brutality that his gift unleashes. His lack of control will cost him dearly, and his healing abilities may have their limits.

Marianus O’mas, now-retired spymaster, retreats to the Vale, far from the political machine that has left him disgruntled. Old habits, however, are impossible to give up, and O’mas sets covert plans against the Grymore Foundation in motion.

In writing the direct sequel to The Killing Kind, the author sought to bridge the events between previous entries while setting events into motion that will lead to the series’ conclusion. On this topic, he says “While the scope of The World’s Eye is narrowed on a small cast, there’s a lot here that provides context and lays the groundwork for the series’ eventual final act.”
